The USBGA will be hosting its 1st Annual National Conference this year. The confirmed date is Friday, October 31 - Sunday November 2, 2008. The Conference will be held at the Henry Horton State Resort Park and Conference Center on the shores of the historic Duck River, the longest stretch of free flowing river in Tennessee. in Chapel Hill, Tennessee.

Henry Horton State Park is located 40 miles south of Nashville on U.S. Hwy 31A between the towns of Chapel Hill and Lewisburg. The park is accessible via I-65 by turning east on US Hwy 412 (Exit 46) and following the signs (about 13 miles).

The conference will feature good fellowship, educational and informative programs, good food, vendors and fun activities. There will be exceptional learning opportunities for breeders, producers, and hobbyists who have or are interested in Boer goats.

On Friday afternoon, the Board of Directors will host a relaxing afternoon socializing around the magnificent fireplace at the inn or strolling along the beautiful Duck River. For those intereted, there will be a USBGA Golf Scramble Tournament at the park's beautiful par-72 Buford Ellington Championship Golf Course. The modest entry fee for this event includes greens fees, cart and trophies. Rental clubs are also available.

The conference will kick off with a USBGA General Membership Meeting at 6:00 PM on Friday, followed by a President's Reception in the inn's Hospitality Room. The theme of the reception is Halloween and costumes are encouraged. Entertainment and adult refreshments will be provided.

Most vendors will have their exhibits set up on Friday and all day on Saturday.

The "meat" of the conference will be the many informative sessions on Saturday geared toward every level of breeder, producer and hobbyist presented by some of the foremost authorities in the industry. The Saturday luncheon will be held at the buffet of the inn's restaurant.

Following the activities of Saturday, the attendees will retire to the group lodge for a casual, yet elegant awards banquet honoring those who have contributed significantly to the advancement of the USBGA over the past year.

Sunday morning begins with a relaxed, western-theme devotional service for those who wish to attend. Following a delicious brunch at the inn's restaurant, the conference will adjourn at 11:30.

Please Note: Due to the mature theme of the educational programs and the lack of activities and accommodations for children, attendance by children is strongly discouraged.

The breakout sessions will center around four basic tracks. Attendees may attend sessions in any track. Each session will be about 25 minutes long. Sample sessions will include:
